Wild: A Sci-Fi Flash Fiction Story

No. 28/100 100-word short stories for my 100 follower celebration!

Her heart was a drum, driving her feet ever faster as the ocean became a blur of pink far down below. The suns had no mastery over her dark skin, the wind couldn’t control her closely shorn hair.

Without warning, Janet stumbled and rocketed into the thick field of purple ombré grass at her feet. She let gravity take her, rolling with the force of nature as it pulled her head over heels. Unrestrained laughter burst from her lips and echoed among the cliffs.

This world was new, vibrant, and even sometimes scary, but she had never felt more free.

When you write as much as I do, you have to take frequent breaks from sitting. A standing desk (not a whole desk, but a mini desk that will sit on top of my current desk with my laptop, keyboard, and mouse and extend upward) will allow me to continue working while maintaining that good blood flow to my brain. Thank you so much for your support that allows me to keep producing free content. God bless you! ♥️ E.J.
