It gathered from the four corners of the Earth like an army readying for war. Rey stared up into the roiling black clouds and tried not to be afraid. She failed. 

A roll of thunder shook the very ground she stood on—not that it mattered to anyone but her. There wasn’t anything left on Earth to fall apart. Humanity had seen to that. 

Rey lifted her radio to her lips. “Control, this is Rey.” She swallowed hard, knowing her words were about to make history. “The storm is here. Ready the shuttle—it’s time to find a new home.”
