Space

No. 16/100 100-word short stories for my 100 follower celebration!

Joan had claimed all her life that she loved it. She had been immersed in it most of her life.

And yet, before now, she had never truly known space.

It was one thing being inside of a spaceship, a thick hull of cold metal separating you from the empty vacuum outside. It was quite another story floating by a literal thread in the middle of it all inside a stuffy spacesuit. Joan’s stomach bunched with terror as she tried to comprehend the infiniteness of the universe.

As a seasoned space explorer, she never thought she’d be afraid of space.
