How’s school? Any chance you’ll come home soon?

Sam grabbed the sheet of paper and promptly crumpled it up. “No, no, too needy…”

Dear Ingrid, 

I hope you’re liking school. I mean, you always did like school, and you’re at the college of your dreams, so

Sam sighed and dropped his face into his hands, shaking his head. He recollected his thoughts after a few more minutes and tried again. 

Dear Ingrid,

Remember how we used to write letters like this as kids? I thought it might be fun to try it again. Mind you, it’s not easy…
