No. 13/100 100-word short stories for my 100 follower celebration!

It’s a bunching in her chest, an expectant surety that the world will change, a pounding heartbeat and bated breath. Beneath Adaline are sets of muscles so complex that she doesn’t begin to know how to name them. Subtly, she feels them shift and tighten. Her own muscles flex in response. 

“Do you mind?” a deep voice grumbles, reverberating through the creature’s scales. Realising she’s been squeezing her mount tightly, Adaline tries to relax. A nervous laugh bursts from her mouth. “Sorry!” 

In response, the dragon’s wings thrust them into the frigid air, and Adaline’s stomach plummets somewhere far below.
