Time

It’s always advancing. I’m always running. I know I’m not fast enough, but it’s the last thing I can do.

Across the centuries, every mortal has run from this. I can almost see them as whole galaxies zip past my viewport. They plead and beg and trade, all for one thing: more. More life. More chances. They rarely ever get it.

I was supposed to be different. I never thought I would have to run.

But here, at the end of the line, all bets are off. The universe swirls around me like I’m speeding down the longest highway in all of creation. I know that, eventually, there will be an end, but I can’t stand the thought of it.

So I keep going. I keep running. I keep pushing to the edge of the universe until I’m out of—
